WFS O50's East Premiership, Championship & Conference
/The WFS Over 50’s East of Scotland leagues recommenced today after the summer break, and it proved to be a thrilling and competitive day at the RPC Dundee.
In the Premiership, Forfar have extended their lead at the top of the table, while Arbroath and St James currently occupy the other two Champions League qualification spots ahead of the final league date in October.
The Championship is shaping up to be just as exciting, with Linlithgow Rose CFC and Hibernian CF now level on points. Linlithgow edge ahead only on goal difference, setting up a dramatic conclusion next month.
Meanwhile, in the Conference, the title race is wide open. Fife Wanderers have gone top, 1 point ahead of Saints in the Community, but with just three points separating the top four clubs, the promotion battle and race to be crowned champions promises to go right down to the wire.
We would like to thank our Regional Reps, referees, and players for contributing to a fantastic day of football in the East of Scotland. We now look forward to welcoming everyone back for our final league day on Sunday 12th October.
