Club News - August

It’s been another exciting time in Scottish community football, with clubs and organisations celebrating achievements, hosting festivals, and delivering programmes that make a real difference to people’s lives. Here’s a look at some of the latest highlights:

Saints Kirkcudbright Shine at Summer Festivities

Saints Kirkcudbright proudly took to the streets during the Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities Grand Parade to showcase their club and football sessions. Their efforts were rewarded as they claimed an award in the Adult Walkers section – making it the third year in a row they have achieved this recognition. The parade gave players, volunteers, and supporters a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the club and promote its ongoing community work.

BOXT Extends Support for Rangers Charity Foundation

The Rangers Charity Foundation has announced that BOXT, one of its valued community sponsors, will continue to fund its Walking Football and Football Memories programmes for a second successive year.

Last season, BOXT’s support helped these established programmes reach even more people, improving the lives of hundreds across the community. With a further year of backing, BOXT has ensured both initiatives will run throughout the 2025/26 football season, while also supporting the wider work of the Foundation.

Uthink Scotland Festival Brings Fun and Friendship

Uthink Scotland successfully organised a festival of football that prioritised enjoyment over competition. Teams including Edinburgh City, Aberdeen Strikers, and Stonehaven Strollers all took part in the event.

With no medals or trophies on offer, the focus was firmly on fun, camaraderie, and community spirit, making it a truly memorable occasion for all involved.

Glasgow Life Celebrated by Scottish FA

A huge congratulations goes to Glasgow Life, who have been recognised by the Scottish FA for their outstanding community work.

They were named winners of the West Region Best Community Football For All Project for their Dementia and Parkinson’s session, a programme that continues to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through football.
