WFS National Team Is Ready For Nyon!

Our Nation. Our Team. Our Time.

This week, Walking Football Scotland will make history as our first-ever WFS National Team travels to Switzerland to compete in the second UEFA Walking Football EuroCup event in Nyon.

It is a landmark moment not only for the players selected, but for everyone who has played a part in the growth and development of walking football across Scotland over the past decade.

The squad represents clubs from across the country, each player proudly wearing the colours of their local team throughout the season. However, this week is different. This week they come together with one purpose – to represent Scotland on the international stage.

Every affiliated club, every volunteer, every coach, every referee and every player has contributed to this moment. The journey to Nyon is the result of years of dedication, passion and belief in the power of walking football to transform lives and bring communities together.

For many of our players, this will be the opportunity of a lifetime. To wear the Scotland badge, stand alongside fellow nations and represent our country in an official UEFA event is something that only a few years ago seemed impossible.

The significance of this moment stretches far beyond the nine players who will pull on the shirt. They carry with them the hopes and pride of the entire Scottish walking football community. They represent the thousands of people who take part in walking football every week, the hundreds of volunteers who give their time freely, and the remarkable growth of our game from grassroots sessions to international recognition.

As the team prepares to depart, we wish every player and member of the management team the very best of luck. We know they will represent Walking Football Scotland, their clubs and their country with pride, passion and distinction.

This is more than a team.

This is more than a tournament.

This is the next step in Scotland's walking football journey.

Our Nation. Our Team. Our Time.
