Strong Start for New WFS Player Development Workshops in Stranraer

Walking Football Scotland was delighted to deliver the first of our new WFS Player Development Workshops today, with a fantastic opening session hosted in Stranraer.

The day began with an enjoyable game of walking football at Stair Park, providing a great opportunity for players to get out on the pitch before moving into the classroom for the workshop session.

The response from everyone in attendance was extremely positive, with players fully engaging throughout. There was plenty of discussion, thoughtful questions and a genuine eagerness to learn more about the game, its laws and how we can all work together to continue raising standards across walking football in Scotland.

A huge thank you goes to Gary Small and everyone at Stranraer for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality throughout the day. We also want to recognise the outstanding contribution of our South West Regional Representative, Jim Paterson, who continues to do a tremendous amount of work on behalf of Walking Football Scotland, regularly visiting clubs and supporting the development of the game across the region.

Today’s workshop marks the beginning of an exciting new education programme for players, designed to develop understanding of the Laws of the Game, promote respect and fair play, encourage safe participation and help players become positive ambassadors for walking football.
