WFS O60’s Men’s West of Scotland Leagues
/The WFS Men’s Over 60’s West of Scotland Leagues kicked off today at the Toryglen Regional Football Centre, delivering a strong opening day of competitive walking football and setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026 season.
In the Premiership, newly promoted Saint Anthony’s – Whites made an immediate impact at the top level, winning all four of their opening fixtures to go top of the table after Round 1. A fantastic start following their Championship title last season. They are closely followed by Pollok Thistle, who also enjoyed a positive opening day and notably picked up a victory over Pollok Utd in today’s matches.
The Championship saw an impressive debut from newcomers Ardencaple FC, who also recorded four wins from four to open up an early four-point lead at the top of the table. John Sutton CC sit second, remaining unbeaten after the opening round of fixtures and keeping the early pace.
It was a really positive start to the O60’s walking football season in the West, with great spirit and competition on display throughout the day.
A big thank you goes to Regional League Co-ordinator Derek King, along with the support of our regional representatives and referees, for their excellent work in delivering a smooth and successful opening day. Thanks also to all clubs and players for contributing to such a strong and competitive start to the 2026 season.
