WFS Men's O65's Regional Cup - Central Region Champions!
/π CENTRAL REGION CROWNED MEN'S O65's REGIONAL CUP CHAMPIONS π
The 2026 Walking Football Scotland Regional Cup programme got underway today at Toryglen Regional Football Centre as the Men's Over 65s Regional Cup brought together players from all five regions to compete for the first silverware of the year.
Teams from across the country descended on Glasgow with one goal in mind β to become the first Regional Cup champions of 2026. After a fantastic afternoon of competitive football, great sportsmanship and regional pride, it was Central Region who emerged victorious to lift the trophy and be crowned Men's O65's Regional Cup Champions.
Congratulations to all of the players, and in particular to Manager Richard Sinclair and Assistant Manager Owen Kelly, whose side produced an outstanding performance throughout the day to claim the honours.
The event marked the beginning of our Summer of Sport-funded Regional Cup series, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all five regions, every player who participated, and especially our volunteer Managers and Assistant Managers. These events simply would not be possible without your commitment, dedication and support, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do to help grow walking football across Scotland.
Today's tournament showcased everything that makes our game so special β competitive football, friendship, camaraderie and a shared passion for representing your region.
Congratulations once again to Central Region on becoming our first Regional Cup champions of 2026.
Attention now turns to next week's Men's Over 60s Regional Cup, with squad announcements coming soon ahead of another exciting day of regional competition at Toryglen.
