Club News - November

It’s been another uplifting and inspiring number of weeks across the walking football community, with clubs not only enjoying the game but also making a real difference through fundraising and community spirit.

Oriam Celebrates 10 Years in Style 🎉💙

On 30th October 2025, Oriam Walking Football marked a major milestone — their 10th Anniversary Dinner — held in aid of Alzheimer Scotland, their chosen charity partner for 2025.

The celebration took place at Tynecastle Stadium and was kindly sponsored by Digby Brown Solicitors. The evening was expertly hosted by Calum Robertson, with entertainment from the inimitable Eric Davidson and Tam Cowan, who kept everyone laughing and entertained throughout.

Special thanks go to main event sponsors Digby Brown Solicitors, along with table sponsors Grange Wealth Management and Dickens Lounge Bar, whose generous support helped make the evening such a success.

It was truly a night to remember — filled with laughter, stories, and community spirit — and most importantly, over £4,000 was raised to support the vital work of Alzheimer Scotland. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this landmark event such a triumph. 👏💙

Stirling Albion Foundation’s Charity Efforts 🌟

The Stirling Albion Foundation were delighted to receive a generous donation of £115 for their Parkinson’s Walking Football Programme, kindly donated by one of their members, Rab, and his family.

Rab organises a charity golf day each year and donates the proceeds to a range of good causes and this year, the walking football programme was one of the beneficiaries.

In addition, the Stirling Albion WF group recently handed over a cheque for £820 to Parkinson’s UK Scotland, raised through various fundraising activities.

A huge well done to everyone involve, an inspiring effort that highlights how football, family, and community can come together to make a difference. 👏🏌️‍♂️💚

Townhead Strollers Support Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland 💙

Townhead Strollers Walking Football Club have been busy fundraising once again, proudly supporting Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) with a fantastic donation of £570!

Over the past few weeks, Pele the Panda was out and about around Townhead CSH with his trusty collection tins 🐼. Players and supporters also enjoyed some delicious homemade tablet and the club wrapped things up with a fun-filled Halloween “Kick or Treat” session complete with football, laughter, and plenty of community spirit! 🎃⚽

CHSS is Scotland’s largest health charity, helping people living with chest, heart, and stroke conditions to live life to the fullest. Their amazing team of nurses, support workers, and volunteers ensure no one has to recover alone.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, and special recognition goes to Derek King for his dedication and organisation. 👏💙

Dunbar Join the Fundraising Effort 💪

The spirit of giving continued down the coast, as Dunbar Walking Football also raised funds in support of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland through their recent events and weekly collections.

A massive thank you to everyone at Dunbar for their generosity, enthusiasm, and ongoing commitment to supporting this incredible cause. Together, every effort makes a real difference. ❤️⚽

Friendly Action and Regional Connections 🤝

The Regional Trophy events continue to bring teams together, with plenty of friendly fixtures and great football on display.

Recently, the West 65s under Eric Dunion were delighted to host Townhead Strollers for a friendly in East Kilbride — another great example of how competition and camaraderie can thrive side by side in the walking football community.

Meanwhile, Jeanfield Swifts were thrilled to welcome Midlothian Ladies for a friendly fixture that highlighted what walking football is truly about — friendship, fun, and shared passion for the game. The smiles, laughter, and good football on show perfectly captured the ethos that keeps this community thriving. ⚽💬
