Education Workshop at Ravenscraig: Trustee Matt Ramsay Delivers Key Session

Our very own trustee, Matt Ramsay, was recently out delivering our Education Workshop at Ravenscraig to the students of New College Lanarkshire. Matt’s session was insightful and engaging, providing the students with a deeper understanding of the impact of walking football in local communities. It was a great opportunity to connect with the next generation and inspire future leaders in the sport.

Walking Football in the Algarve: Clubs Representing in Portugal

Several of our clubs, including Oriam, Pollok Utd, Midlothian Ladies, and Jeanfield Swifts, recently took part in walking football tournaments out in the sunny Algarve, Portugal. While no teams came away with winning trophies, the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The event was not just about the sport but about camaraderie, socialising, and showing how walking football unites men and women across different backgrounds. It was a wonderful opportunity for the clubs to bond and represent the UK in an international setting.

Scone WFC Supports Charity Event in Vienna

Scone WFC had the honour of being invited by the Walking Football Austria Academy to participate in a charity fundraiser event, Benefitzturnier für die Gruft, held in Vienna. The event featured teams from across Austria and Germany, all coming together to support a worthy cause. Scone WFC showed their sporting spirit and contributed to a fantastic event that truly highlighted the power of walking football to make a positive difference in communities.

Rangers Foundation: Special Veterans Walking Football Sessions

Closer to home, we are pleased to announce that the Rangers Foundation is offering a special veterans walking football session. These free sessions, held every Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Ibrox Complex, are designed to bring veterans together through the sport of walking football. It's a fantastic initiative to support our veterans and provide them with an opportunity to stay active, socialise, and remain connected to the community.

Regional Cup Preparations: North East Teams Gear Up for June

As the Regional Cup approaches in June, the regional teams are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting competition. In particular, the North East teams have been working hard, with the O65's recently taking on the O70's in a spirited match led by Ian McMillan and Bobby Craigie, respectively. The friendly competition was a showcase of skill, sportsmanship, and the close-knit spirit of walking football.
