There was a fantastic atmosphere as HBDreampot took part in their first-ever walking football session, bringing together fun, friendship and positivity on the pitch.
Vivian Wallace, who recently received a cheque on behalf of WFS from the Sing in the City choirs, was once again on hand to support as the group tried walking football for the very first time.
The inaugural session was full of smiles, encouragement and energy, showing just how powerful walking football can be in bringing people together and creating new opportunities for people to stay active, connected and supported.
A brilliant first session for everyone involved — and hopefully the start of something that continues to grow. 👏⚽💙
Oriam Lift Gala Fairydean Tournament in Support of Prostate Scotland 💙🏆
Congratulations to Oriam Walking Football Club, who were crowned champions of the annual Gala Fairydean Rovers Walking Football Tournament, an event that once again combined competitive football with fundraising for a fantastic cause.
Held in aid of Prostate Scotland, the tournament welcomed clubs from across the country for a day of high-quality walking football, with every team contributing to a fundraising total of more than £1,200 to support the charity's vital work.
Oriam produced an outstanding series of performances throughout the day, progressing through the group stages with victories over Hearts, Dunfermline, Dunbar, Tweedvale and hosts Gala Fairydean Rovers before defeating defending champions Linlithgow Rose 5-3 in an entertaining final.
Following their victory, Oriam were presented with the Hugh Nicolson Trophy, named in memory of a much-loved member of the club, by Andrew Nicolson, Hugh's son, alongside Stewart Clark, an ambassador for Prostate Scotland.
A huge congratulations go to Oriam on their success, to Gala Fairydean Rovers Community Trust for organising another excellent tournament, and to every club that took part and helped raise such a fantastic amount for Prostate Scotland.
The event was another wonderful example of how walking football continues to bring communities together, honour those who have made a lasting contribution to the game, and make a real difference through charitable fundraising. 👏⚽💙
Oriam Players Day Celebrates Football, Community and Giving Back ⚽💙
More than 60 players came together at Oriam – Scotland's Sports Performance Centre for Oriam Walking Football Club's annual Players Day, a celebration of football, friendship and community spirit.
Held on the largest indoor synthetic pitch in Europe, the event saw club members enjoy a day of friendly competition before coming together for refreshments in the Oriam Lounge.
Congratulations to Reddy Or Not, captained by Carol Gilbert, who emerged victorious in the day's tournament.
As always, the event was about much more than football. Players raised £330 for the club's 2026 charity partner, Care & Repair Edinburgh, an organisation that carries out more than 6,000 jobs each year to support older and disabled residents across the city.
The day also marked the conclusion of a week-long food drive in support of Community for Food, with the club presenting the charity with a £500 donation to help continue its invaluable work supporting families in South West Edinburgh.
Adding to the celebrations, Ewan Duffy was presented with a special award in recognition of earning his first Scotland Walking Football international cap, a proud moment for both Ewan and the club.
Another fantastic example of walking football making a positive difference both on and off the pitch. Congratulations to everyone at Oriam for a superb day of football, fundraising and community support. 👏⚽💙

The engraved tankard was a fitting tribute from his fellow players, recognising not only his international achievement but also his dedication and commitment to both Alloa Athletic and Walking Football Scotland over many years.

Jeanfield Swifts Women Finish Runners-Up at Sweden Cup 🇸🇪⚽
A huge well done to Jeanfield Swifts Women, who produced a fantastic effort to finish runners-up in the Over 60s category at the Sweden Cup in Malmo.
The squad gave everything throughout the tournament, showing real quality, determination and team spirit across a demanding schedule. Overall, Jeanfield recorded five wins, two draws and two defeats, with the final proving just one step too far on this occasion.
There was also concern for captain Joanie Masterton, a Scotland internationalist, who was unfortunately injured during the semi-final. Everyone wishes Joanie a full and speedy recovery.
Despite the disappointment of narrowly missing out on the trophy, the whole squad can be incredibly proud of their achievement and the way they represented their club and Scottish walking football on the international stage.
A brilliant effort from all involved — they truly left it all on the pitch. 👏🇸🇪⚽
