Scottish Clubs Compete Abroad with Spirit and Unity 🌍⚽
It’s been a significant period for clubs travelling overseas, enjoying both competition and camaraderie on the international stage.
Falkirk Walking Football Club were in Spain competing at the Copa de Mazarrón, where The Bairns enjoyed a fantastic experience together both on and off the pitch.
Meanwhile in Portugal, the EuroCopa Tournament in the Algarve saw strong Scottish representation from Forth Valley, Motherwell FC CT, Pollok United and Oriam. However, the event was also marked with great sadness following the passing of Regional Manager Gerry Butler.
Our thoughts are with all four clubs, their players and teammates who were present. In difficult circumstances, the support shown to one another was a true reflection of the strength and unity within the walking football community.
Albion Rovers Launch New Women’s Walking Football Session 👏⚽
Albion Rovers have taken an exciting step forward with the launch of their new women’s walking football session.
We were delighted to support the club with start-up funding, helping bring this opportunity to life. On the night, Regional Representative Claire McCosh was on hand to support the session, which saw a terrific turnout and a great atmosphere from the outset.
It’s fantastic to see more opportunities being created for women to get involved in walking football, and we look forward to seeing the session continue to grow and develop in the months ahead.
West Lothian Walking Football Raise Over £3,000 in 12-Hour Charity Challenge 💙⚽
West Lothian Walking Football delivered an incredible effort on and off the pitch as they hosted a 12-hour walking football challenge on Sunday in aid of Prostate Scotland Fundraisers and Supporters.
The event brought together teams from local groups in Bathgate, Whitburn, Livingston and East Calder, alongside visiting sides including Shotts Bon Accord, Dunfermline, Raith Rovers and Stenhousemuir, creating a fantastic day of football, teamwork and community spirit.
Across the full 12 hours, players showed tremendous commitment and energy, all for a great cause — and their efforts were rewarded with a colossal £3,109 raised.
A brilliant achievement and a fantastic example of the power of walking football to make a real difference. Huge congratulations to everyone involved 👏⚽💙
Successful Prostate Charity Event Hosted at World of Football 💙⚽
The World of Football venue in Edinburgh recently played host to a successful Prostate Charity Walking Football event, organised by Edinburgh City Walking Football’s Billy Brown.
The event brought players together for a great day of football, all in support of a fantastic cause. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, an impressive £1,020 has been raised so far, with additional donations still to come.
A huge well done to Billy Brown for organising the event, and to all players and supporters who contributed — another brilliant example of the walking football community making a real difference. 👏⚽💙
From international tournaments to new beginnings at grassroots level and fundraising for other charities, these stories highlight both the joy and the strength of the walking football community. In moments of celebration and in times of sadness, the togetherness shown across clubs continues to define the game. ⚽💙
