WFS O65’s Men’s West Leagues

The WFS O65’s Men’s West of Scotland Leagues returned today at the Toryglen Regional Football Centre for Round 2, with another competitive and meaningful day of walking football.

The day began with a minute’s applause in tribute to Gerry Butler, who recently passed away. It was a fitting way to recognise his contribution and mark his impact on the walking football community.

In the Premiership, Drumchapel Utd JNE continued their impressive unbeaten start to the season, extending their lead at the top of the table to four points and setting the early pace in the title race.

In the Championship, all eyes were on a crucial set of fixtures involving the leading teams, and while it was always going to be a big round, it is Dumbarton FC who sit top at the halfway stage and 2 points clear. Despite that, it remains a closely contested division with plenty still to play for as the season progresses.

A big thank you to all players, clubs, referees, and regional representatives for contributing to another strong and competitive day of football in the West. ⚽👏
