WFS SCOTTISH CUP & FESTIVAL 2025

Walking Football Scotland made history once again as 92 teams and over 900 players descended on Glasgow Green Football Centre for the largest ever one-day walking football festival – the WFS Scottish Cup & Festival 2025.

Now firmly established as a landmark event in the walking football calendar, the festival brought together players from across Scotland to compete in a day of camaraderie, competition and celebration of the game.

Sponsored by our charity partners, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, this year’s event not only broke participation records, but also showcased the continued growth and diversity of walking football, with matches played across a range of age and gender categories.

We were especially delighted to welcome representation from the Scottish Government, including Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport, Maree Todd MSP, whose support highlights the growing recognition of walking football as a powerful tool for improving health, wellbeing and community connection.

Special guests in attendance included former Scottish footballers, Craig Levein, Peter Grant, David Hopkin and Dougie Imrie, as well as WFS Patron and football icon Rose Reilly MBE, who helped present trophies and medals to the winning teams.
