Cockenzie & Port Seton Mourn the Loss of “Glesga Tam” ❤️⚽

Everyone at Cockenzie & Port Seton Walking Football was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of their much-loved members, Thomas Mackin, affectionately known to all as “Glesga Tam.”

Tam brought humour, warmth and plenty of character to every session, with his trademark nutmegs and cheeky smile always guaranteed to lift spirits on the pitch. Rain or shine, he was always there — not just as a player, but as a true friend to so many within the group.

His presence, personality and passion for the game made Monday mornings something everyone looked forward to, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Walking Football Scotland sends its condolences and love to Thomas’s family, friends and everyone at Cockenzie & Port Seton Walking Football at this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Tam. ❤️

Braehead Women Celebrate More Success in Salou 🏆⚽

There was more international success for Braehead Women’s Walking Football Team as they proudly lifted the trophy during their recent trip to Salou.

The team produced another fantastic set of performances against strong opposition, continuing their impressive run and showcasing the quality within the women’s game.

Beyond the football itself, the trip was another brilliant opportunity for friendship, teamwork and representing Scottish walking football on the international stage.

Hearts Walking Footballers Enjoy Special Day at Tynecastle ❤️⚽

The Hearts Over 50s Walking Football group recently enjoyed a memorable opportunity as they got the chance to play on the famous pitch at Tynecastle Park.

Rolling back the years in style, the group were in top form with plenty of goals, laughter and moments of quality on show.

More importantly, the session highlighted the fantastic spirit within the group and the strong connection they have with the club. It was a special experience for everyone involved and great to see the players welcomed onto the Tynecastle turf.

Regional Squads Preparing for Summer Cup Events ⚽🏆

Preparations are well underway for the upcoming Regional Cup events taking place across June and July, with regional squads already beginning to come together ahead of the summer competitions.

The West Region recently held a joint session involving the Men’s Over 65s and Over 70s squads, with both groups taking each other on in a friendly series of matches.

The games provided valuable preparation, competitive action and an opportunity for players to build relationships as squads continue to develop ahead of the big events later this year.

It’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm and commitment from players and management teams as excitement builds for another busy regional campaign. 👏⚽
