/Walking football continues to flourish across Scotland, with clubs celebrating personal achievements, hosting exciting tournaments and enjoying friendly fixtures as preparations continue for the season ahead. From award winners to festival-style events and competitive finals, it’s been another busy and positive spell for the walking football community.
Tam Moffat Honoured as Senior Sports Person of the Year 🏆
There has been a welcome rise in numbers attending sessions at Dunfermline Dynamos, highlighting the continued growth of walking football in the area.
The club recently took time to recognise one of their own, Tam Moffat, who scooped the Dunfermline and West Fife Sports Council Senior Sports Person Award. A fantastic achievement and richly deserved recognition for Tam’s commitment and contribution to sport. Congratulations!
Carnoustie Panmure Triumph at Street Soccer Tournament 🏆
The annual Street Soccer Walking Football Tournament took place on 13 March at the Change Centre in Dundee, bringing together clubs from across the country for a fantastic day of football.
Teams taking part included Street Soccer, Dundee East, Dundee Community Trust, Hearts, Oriam, Stenhousemuir, Carnoustie Panmure, St James, Stonehaven Strollers and Arbroath.
After a hard-fought day of matches, the final saw Carnoustie Panmure defeat Dundee East on penalties following an entertaining 1–1 draw.
A huge thank you goes to the organisers and the team at the Change Centre for providing excellent facilities and support for another successful event.
Clubs Come Together for Friendly Matches in East Kilbride 🤝
It’s always great to see clubs coming together for friendly fixtures and camaraderie, and that was certainly the case as Drumchapel United, Glasgow Life and Townhead Strollers met in East Kilbride.
The matches offered valuable game time and preparation ahead of upcoming Walking Football Scotland competitive fixtures, while also reinforcing the strong friendships that exist between clubs.
Over 70s Festival of Football at Galabank ☀️⚽
Annan Athletic were delighted to host a special Over 70s walking football event at Galabank, with the sunshine making it a perfect afternoon for football.
The Galabank MUGA played host to a festival of football featuring Annan Athletic, Carrick and Carlisle, with the teams enjoying competitive matches played in a fantastic spirit.
A brilliant day celebrating the game and the continued opportunities for players to stay active and connected through walking football.
Rossvale Ladies Celebrate Friendship and a Year of Success 💜⚽
The Rossvale Ladies Walking Football Team recently gathered for their AGM and presentation evening, taking time to reflect on the past year while also looking ahead to an exciting season to come.
More than anything, the evening was a celebration of the incredible group of women who make up the team — recognising their commitment, achievements and, most importantly, the lifelong friendships that have formed through walking football.
A fantastic night celebrating the spirit and community that make the game so special.
These stories once again highlight the true spirit of walking football — bringing people together through sport, celebrating achievements, building friendships and supporting communities.
