The region enjoyed a hugely successful year, lifting six out of the 12 Regional Cup and Trophy titles contested at Toryglen and Ravenscraig across June and October/November.
There were double triumphs for the Men’s Over 50s (managed by Jim Marshall, Brian Connolly and Billy Bentley) and the Men’s Over 70s (managed by Gordon Hyslop and Jim Marshall). Strong performances were also delivered across other age groups, including Men’s Over 65s and Women’s Over 40s, underlining the depth of talent across the region.
In total, players from 12 clubs across Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway and South Lanarkshire contributed to the success: Ayr United Football Academy, Carrick WFC, Townhead Strollers, Largs WFC, Glenafton Athletic, Stranraer, Saints Kirkcudbright, Annan Athletic, Gretna 2008, Glenbuck & Douglas Valley, Cumnock Striders and Whitletts Victoria.
