BOXT Extends Support for Rangers Community Foundation Programmes 💙⚽

The Rangers Community Foundation has announced that BOXT will continue its support of the Foundation’s Walking Football and Football Memories programmes throughout the 2026/27 season, marking the third consecutive year of the partnership.

The continued backing will help both programmes provide regular opportunities for participants to stay active, socialise, build friendships and tackle isolation through football and the shared connections it creates.

The Football Memories programme also provides an important and welcoming environment for supporters living with dementia and their carers, using football memories and conversation to bring people together.

For the Walking Football programme, the partnership will help ensure participants can continue enjoying the physical, mental and social benefits of staying involved in the game.

Congratulations to the Rangers Community Foundation and a huge thank you to BOXT for continuing to invest in programmes that use football to improve lives and strengthen communities. 👏💙⚽

Walking Football Helps Fill the Shelves for East Lothian Foodbank ❤️⚽

Walking football once again proved its power to make a difference as Musselburgh Windsor FC hosted a friendly fundraising tournament in support of the East Lothian Foodbank.

Five teams took part in the event, with Musselburgh Windsor, Prestonpans (two teams), Haddington and Tweedvale enjoying a relaxed round-robin format focused on participation, friendship and supporting a worthy cause.

While there was no trophy at stake, the real winners were the local community. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the tournament raised an impressive £425, alongside 80kg of food donations for the East Lothian Foodbank.

The event was a great success, with players enjoying an afternoon of football, camaraderie and community spirit while helping those who need it most.

A huge congratulations to Musselburgh Windsor FC for organising another fantastic initiative and thank you to every club and player who supported such an important cause. Another brilliant example of walking football making a positive impact both on and off the pitch. 👏❤️⚽

Falkirk Foundation Crowned Newmains Invitational Champions 🏆⚽

Congratulations to Falkirk Foundation Walking Football, who were crowned champions at the recent Newmains Invitational Walking Football Tournament after an outstanding day of football.

Competing against five other invited teams, the Falkirk Foundation squad produced a series of excellent performances before securing a convincing 3-0 victory in the final to lift the trophy.

The success is a testament to the hard work and commitment shown by the players in recent weeks. Additional training sessions, including a new Monday evening session, have helped the group continue to develop both individually and collectively, with the benefits evident on the pitch.

Beyond the silverware, the walking football programme continues to have a positive impact on participants, improving physical fitness, mental wellbeing and social connections while providing a welcoming environment for everyone involved.

Congratulations to the players, coaches and everyone at Falkirk Foundation on a thoroughly deserved achievement. A fantastic reward for the dedication shown throughout the season and another great example of walking football flourishing across Scotland. 👏🏆⚽💙

Dunbar and Stenhousemuir Celebrate Strong Club Friendship 🤝⚽

More than 40 walking footballers came together as Dunbar WFC welcomed friends from Stenhousemuir CFC for another fantastic day of football, friendship and camaraderie.

The two clubs initially fielded two competitive teams each, alongside teams for those who prefer the more social side of the game, with a series of 20-minute matches providing plenty of enjoyable action.

Later, the players were mixed together to form six new teams featuring members from both clubs — a brilliant way of encouraging everyone to play alongside different people, build new friendships and enjoy plenty of good-natured banter.

After the football, everyone headed to the clubhouse for food and refreshments, rounding off a hugely enjoyable day played in exactly the right spirit.

The get-together forms part of a reciprocal home-and-away arrangement between Dunbar and Stenhousemuir, two clubs who have developed strong links and a close friendship over a number of years.

A great example of what walking football is all about — competitive when the ball is rolling, but friendship and camaraderie always at its heart. 👏⚽💙

Stenhousemuir Memorial Festival Remembers Much-Loved Members

Stenhousemuir Walking Football Club welcomed local players together for a very special Memorial Festival, remembering three much-loved members who are sadly no longer with them — Bill Doig, Mark Harris and Jimmy Evans.

More than two hours of fun, non-competitive walking football were enjoyed, with the emphasis firmly on friendship, memories and celebrating those who had been such an important part of the club.

Following the football, players and helpers came together for a fantastic buffet, generously provided through donations from the Stenhousemuir membership, adding to the tremendous community spirit surrounding the occasion.

The generosity continued through the festival’s fundraising, with an impressive £800 raised on the day. The Stenhousemuir Walking Football Committee subsequently agreed to increase the total donation to £1,000, meaning local charities Home 2 Hospital and the Falkirk Children’s Panel Fund will each receive £500.

A wonderful gesture from everyone at Stenhousemuir and a fitting way to remember Bill, Mark and Jimmy — bringing people together through the game and community they enjoyed while also making a positive difference to others.

Well done to everyone who played, helped, donated and contributed to such a meaningful day. ❤️⚽👏
