Charity Walking Football Fundraiser for Dnipro Kids

  • Oriam Performance Centre Scotland, EH14 4AS United Kingdom (map)

Many will be aware of the tremendous Dnipro Kids Appeal which was set up and funded by a group of Hibernian supporters over 16 years ago and has culminated in the rescuing of over 50 orphan children from war-torn Ukraine and bringing them all back to safety in Scotland.
This is an incredible humanitarian effort and to help support this group, the generous walking footballers from Oriam and Hearts are staging a sponsored fundraising event on Monday 11th April.
Edinburgh has been twinned with Kyiv for over thirty years and it is very appropriate that our Capital City's walking footballers are coming together for this wonderful cause along with both the Big Hearts Community Trust and the Hibernian Hanlon/Stevenson Foundation.
The Oriam Performance Centre are kindly donating the use of their main stadium pitch where the games will be staged from 2.00 to 4.00pm where it's hoped representatives from the Dnipro Kids Appeal will be in attendance with spectators most welcome to come along and watch the games and maybe throw a few shillings in the hat.

Hearts legend Gary Locke will be on hand to present the trophy to the winning team but the real winners on the day will be the Dnipro Kids.

In addition to the main Hearts v Oriam event, recreational players from Edinburgh City, Dunbar, Oriam & Hearts will be playing in a leisurely festival between 12.30 and 1.30pm before the main event gets underway at 2.00pm.
